Jesus said it first... "Tweet Others...."
"... as you'd like to be tweeted."
The Rules Are Simple...
- Treat others as you'd like to be treated. Recommend only great sites, pages, or ideas.
- Add your link at the TOP of the list above. And add your name to the list of Tweeters below.
- Your page should link to 'http://TweetOthers.com' and provide an ability for other believers to add their links while endorsing your site or idea.
- If your Tweet goes over the 140 char limit, consider Tagging http://TweetOthers.com after entering your current Tweet and date on the table above (See below for more ideas).

Got other good ideas about this?
- Re-point the domain-name (TweetOthers.com) daily... or however often...
- Leave a note below... What Would Jesus Tweet? [That is, how should we use it for Kingdom purposes?]
- Somebody DEFINITELY needs to 'present' on this topic at BarCampIndy!!!
- Tweeting can be used as a form of micro-ministry (micro-blogging): Evangelization pared down to the essential point:
- First things: Pray for God's inspiration for the day's post. Always point them to the cross and the invitation of Jesus in your micro-message rather than a specific church service. Keep in mind what people are concerned about.
- Example: People are concerned about the uncertainty of the times. You might say something like the following:
Jesus is always relevant for every age. "[He] is the same today, yesterday and forever." Heb.13:8 When life is rocky, He is a rock.
- Second things: Establish a "cycle" of thoughts. By doing this you can lead to a specific invitation to church, but vary with other churches who are Bible-Based and orthodox in doctrine. Make sure you: 1) Pray for God's leading, 2) Check out the church's Statement of Faith, and 3) Get a "second opinion" from a trusted source before featuring a specific church in your invite. Repeat the "cycle" every week to 2 weeks.
- Third things: "Aim for unity in truth and form that doesn't violate the substance of God's Word" (Ravi Zacharias). In other words, C. S. Lewis proposes a good analogy for evangelization in "Mere Christianity": our job is to lead them to the "hall". This is where they meet Jesus. It is Jesus' job to extend the invitation to life, and God's work with that individual through the Holy Spirit to lead them to the "room" (denomination) that is where He wants them placed. It may or may not be the "room" we personally attend. But through this kind of org, we should have the prayerful connections to help them to where God would have them go. - Fourth things: Think of your Twitter ministry as similar to a billboard or a Church marquee that someone is going to "drive-by" on the information super-highway and read fairly quickly. Twitter's MaxChar usually allows for 3 strong points(or sentences) to be made @ 140 characters. Editing is limited (must delete the whole post if you catch a spelling mistake).
- Fifth things: Interject (When you have established enough focus on Jesus, the cross, and the invitation, (every three days)) a day's post with a link to an online Bible to begin their personal study of the Word such as eBible.com or another of your preference. There are many. Search and feature your favorite. Along with the Bible link, feature an online support ministry like IndyChristian.com, AskAnythingSaturdayTV, etc. in the same "Tweet".
- Sixth things: RSS yourself and keep track of your "Tweets". The nice thing about Twitter is that you can easily set this up in your private aggregator. This will help you in "cycling" your thoughts and keeping a purpose to your micro-ministry.
- Seventh things: Support your Tweet with links in keeping with the theme of your Tweet. Use a tagging service like Del.icio.us to tag a sermon, radio broadcast, podcast or article on the website that features your Tweet. Ex: Facebook, your own web site, etc. For instance, if you are writing a tweet about Faith, you might find a sermon or podcast dealing with that subject for the day and tag it. If you are featuring a ministry or ministry program that day, you might want to tag a link or links to current information you want to feature along with your Tweet for that day. This is just one easy and simple way you can converge the use of Web 2.0 tools for your audience/follower's/reader's advantage.
