FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EVENT DATES

January 10, 2008 January 19-21, 2008

TUFW TO OBSERVE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY WITH SPECIAL EVENTS

FORT WAYNE, IND. – William Ford III, co-founder of Hilkiah Ministries, is the featured speaker at Taylor University Fort Wayne (TUFW), for the observation of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 19 - 21, 2008.

Ford is co-founder of Hilkiah Ministries. Named for the high priest under King Josiah, Hilkiah discovered the lost book of God and was instrumental in the nation’s spiritual reformation (II Kings 18-22). Forbidden to pray by their slave master, Ford’s ancestors would pray underneath a kettle late at night to muffle their voices. Ford discovered that his ancestors did not pray for their freedom after all, but the freedom of the next generation. He has this “prayer bowl” and uses it as a catalyst for gathering groups together for prayer and teaches on intercession, unity and revival. He believes that it was the prayers of a godly remnant of African American, Native American and white Christian abolitionists that brought revival to America and brought the demise of slavery.

Ford has traveled throughout the U.S., speaking in churches and conferences and conducting prayer journeys. He has participated in prayer and speaking at The Call, a multigenerational prayer gathering that has gathered more than 1,000,000 people to fast and pray in 12-hour solemn assemblies for revival, led by Lou Engle and Che Ahn. Mr. Ford has been interviewed by CBS, TBN, and has been featured on The 700 Club and in Christian magazines. He is co-author, along with Dutch Sheets, of the book, “History Makers: Your Prayers Have Power to Heal the Past and Shape the Future,” released by Regal/Gospel Light Publishing Company in 2004, and Ford’s most recent release, “Created For Influence: Releasing God's Will for Your Life and Nation," has been influencing the Body of Christ and the world in a mighty way.

Ford is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta and Emmaus Road Ministry School in Euless, Texas. He is married to Michelle Ford; they have two children: Amanda and Joshua.
